This Day

Acknowledge and take to heart this day
that the Lord is God in heaven above and
on the earth below. Deut. 4:39

We are to think about the truths God has revealed
about Himself. Then we're to pause and be still--
relax, let go, cease striving--and know in the depths
of our being that this awesome, exalted, dependable
person is God. Waiting on God and resting in Him have
much in common. Both result in absorbing His strength;
both involve truly tuning in to God and His Word. The
more we have His Word dwelling richly in our hearts, the
more it can help us be quiet, restful, and attentive to
Him during all our waking hours.
